All right, so I went back home to Illinois to visit with family and pick some things up. I’ll get to that on another post.
Whilst I was hither and yon, The Lady Friend did a major cleanup on the mess bomb that was my shop. It’s awesome! I’ll do my darndest to keep up with that. Anyway she picked up some little wooden shelves from a friend and I’m using those for the bigger tools in boxes and other sorted items.
On the wall above that is a nail board. She put tools up there wherever they would fit. Unfortunately the nails were set up how the previous owner wanted things and I wasn’t lucky enough to get to purchase his tools. So I started yanking out nails and put new pegs up, and started with the hammers.
A bit about the pegs. I’m sure someone came up with this but I’m using deck screws and quarter inch pvc. The pvc fits perfectly over the threads and when the deck screw head snugs up against the pvc it’ll actually flare the pvc out a bit which is an added bonus. They work great and are easier to move around than nails.
Anyway my cordless tools usually sit under a shelf that sometimes gets stuff piled in the way, so I figured I’d move them over I too the wall as well.
I also filed in some gaps with tape measures, squares and staplers. So progress is being made. I think eventually when I put cabinets in, I’ll use these photos for reference and use the same style of peg hanging in them as it’s working out well.
