You need permission to perform this action (The Ghetto Fix)
All right, so anyone who's disabled UAC in Vista may know what I'm talking about here. Every now and again you get a bugger of a file that won't delete. Fortunately there's an easy workaround using the 'Command Prompt.' 1. Open the Command Prompt, as an administrator. To do so you'll simply right click on the command prompt and select 'Run as Administrator.' If you're unsure of where to find the command prompt just type 'Command Prompt' in the search.2. Here you'll need to navigate to the folder or file you're wanting to delete using the appropriate commands.
3. Once you've found the offending item you'll type the following "del /s/q 'Name of Object'" and press enter. A cool tip if you run into a file or folder name with spaces in it is to type the beginning few characters and then press the Tab button. This will pick through any items in that directory that have those characters.
This deletes out all the files after which point you can just delete the actual remaining folder (If there was one) back in Windows with no problem.
I've deleted a couple folders that I extracted and after they were in place just wouldn't budge. It seems like people on other forums are spewing venom at anyone looking for a fix for this telling them how ignorant they are for disabling UAC. Anyway, just thought I'd make a post about it, so here it is.
