Forever Black. Product Review.
In researching products that restore trim online I've found that there's pretty much one solution, and that's this one. Other's made by Meguiars and Mothers only last through a couple washes, and can often streak. This stuff is absorbed into the plastic and is a pretty permanent dye. I found that getting up close with a pressure washer can take some of the 'outer layer' off but the plastic is still much darker than it was before. Spraying it at a normal distance of a few feet didn't have any affect on it.
Prep is easy, just mix the cleaner with water and sponge down the trim. Hose off with water afterward, and when it dries apply the dye. You can do a few coats of dye depending on how much you want to darken it. The more you apply it the shinier it gets, so if you're after a more matte look stick with one or two.
So if you have a Volvo or another car with the plastic trim that's faded, pick some of this stuff up. It's fantastic and will definitely make your car look fresh and new. After I did this my co-workers though my 7 year old car was brand new.
