All right, it's taken forever but it's finally on like Donkey Dong. REMODELING! Exciting I know. My pocketbook hates me right now but I've lived in dorm room studio fashion for long enough. I'll be posting pictures in the Noftopia gallery as progress ensues.

All right, time for an update. Previous we worked on Alyson's bathroom. It's about 90% complete for what we're currently doing. All that is left really is to put up the mirror and install the quarter round on the floor. 
And now the latest, bamboo flooooors. Oooooh excitement. Straight out of China, hand scraped by little adolescent yellow hands. Probably not, cause I got it at Home Depot and it wasn't all that expensive, most likely came out of a machine. Either way it's solid bamboo, and I love it.
Alyson likes it too, in case you couldn't tell.
The subflooring is a triple layer deal. At about $50 a roll it better be good. It's one layer of permeable material, then a layer of polystyrene beads and then a thicker layer that blocks moisture transmission. I'm not too worried about the water as there's not really an issue with it in the house, but I did want something to fill in some of the imperfections of the floor (Nail Holes). Also I wanted to give the floors a bit of insulation, and it'll make walking on them feel nicer too.
I've decided to go with the floating method as I didn't want to cut plywood first and then nail or glue the floors to that. Floating floors aren't as great for the value of the house, but I think this will suffice for now. Also if Anything ever needs done to them at a later point it's that much easier to remove and reclaim. It's going to take about 4.5 packs to do Alyson's room, and that will leave me with 27.5 remaining packs. That should be enough to take care of the house. All that hard work tuckered Banjo out.
